Enrique Gardano’s journey with music began in his native Cuba, flourished in Spain, and rose to full maturity in the US – where he presently resides. His unique interpretative style is born of an intensive technical musical education combined with an innately curious disposition, seasoned by years of listening closely to the music that lives behind and within the notes. He is a well-schooled musician, having obtained a Master’s of Music Degree from the University of Miami and Doctoral Studies at State University of New York at Stony Brooke. His influences range from Jim Hall, Chuck Wayne to Narciso Yepes.
His playing has taken him to several of the major music venues in the world: Carnegie Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, The Village Gate, and has been featured in several commercial recordings as well as film scores. He has always loved opera and recorded a CD of opera themes arranged for solo guitar titled “Six String Opera.” He is currently involved playing Latin Jazz with guitarist Richie Zellon as well as writing solo guitar arrangements of classic rock & pop tunes.
